NHKプラスクロスSHIBUYAで開催中の「NHK for School展」にて「8Kで見える！異常気象のリアル」が展示中です。
東京大学大気海洋研究所の宮川知己先生のご協力のもと、スーパーコンピュータ「富岳」で計算された風速や雨雲の膨大なデータを8Kで可視化した映像です。
見どころは、「マッデン・ジュリアン振動」と呼ばれる高精度の計算でなければ再現できない、巨大雲群の周期的な移動を可視化しているところです。ぜひご覧ください。
Our new 8K-data-viz has been exhibited at Shibuya, which is visualizing the massive simulation of MJO using Japan’s Supercomputer FUGAKU.
The image looks like an actual satellite photo. But it’s the visualization of the Atmospheric General Circulation Model.
The data was provided by Dr. Tomoki MIYAKAWA at the Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute, The University of Tokyo.
